Hi all, my name is Mufan Liu (刘牧凡). I am a PhD student at CMIC, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. I am supervised by Prof. Yiling Xu at SJTU🇨🇳. We hold the connections to Prof. Le Yang at University of Canterbury🇳🇿, Prof. Jenq-neng Hwang at University of Washington🇺🇸 and Prof. Zhu Li at UMKC🇺🇸. During the day, I engage in scientific research, and in the evening, I study tarot♠️ and photography📷 (No more time for me to attend classes😆). My research interests include adaptive streaming, video coding, reinforcement learning, 3d multimedia and cross-layer design.
My dreams during PhD:
🌟Collect coupons for all sorts of interesting classes from DazhongDianping and try them all.
🌟Travel as much as possible.
🌟Hold a podcast or been invited to speak in any podcast channel.

We proposed EVAN, an adaptive video streaming system that utilizes neural video representations (NeRV). This system is distinct from ABR approaches that use conventional codecs, as it is trained with a more effective strategy and progressive playback is used to prevent re-buffering.
We present a soft-ACK-based outer loop link adaptation scheme for 5G NR video conferencing. By leveraging instantaneous CSI reporting and soft-ACK, we have significantly reduced the overhead of channel control, allowing the traditional link adaptation mechanism to converge faster to lower BLER levels.
